Skin Cancer

Purpose/Mission

The Skin Cancer Task Force (SCTF) is a small network of Colorado institutions, businesses and individuals who work together to help reduce the incidence and magnitude of skin cancer in the state. We partner with schools, workplaces, child care centers, and other organizations to promote UV protection practices and policies related to shade, hats, sunscreen, and early detection.

Our objectives and strategies are outlined in the Colorado Cancer Plan. The Melanoma Chapter includes enhancing skin cancer education and prevention, promoting sun safety policies at workplaces and schools, working to insure that statewide legislation protects children and adolescents from the harmful effects of artificial tanning, creating new sources of shade, and increasing the early detection of skin cancers by physicians.
