Dr. Ward is the Vice President of Clinical Development at MacroGenics, where she leads a team that designs and runs clinical trials that help us understand the safety and efficacy of new biologic drugs for people with cancer. Before joining MacroGenics in 2021, Dr. Ward worked at Foundation Medicine, where she led the clinical development of several comprehensive genomic profiling tests. She also spent five years at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ensuring the safe conduct of clinical trials and evaluating the evidence supporting the approvals of new drugs, first as a clinical reviewer in the Division of Hematology Products and later as leader of the Melanoma/Sarcoma Team and as acting associate director of the Division of Oncology Products 2. Additionally, she has been a member of the early clinical development group at Genentech, where she led the development teams for several small molecules and antibody-drug conjugates through early-phase testing for hematologic malignancies and breast cancer.

Before shifting her career to focus on drug and diagnostic test development, Dr. Ward conducted laboratory-based research on Ras-driven hematologic malignancies at the University of San Francisco.
